Scouting Report
Hamza is still adapting to the North American style of basketball, which affects his consistency, focus, and game understanding. Defensively, he struggles to stay in front of guards and does not yet have the reliability needed to defend smaller, quicker players. His shooting and ball handling are also inconsistent, limiting his ability to play on the perimeter. Because of this, he will need to establish himself as a dependable wing/forward to earn consistent playing time. His effort level and athleticism fluctuate, there are moments where he plays hard and defends well, followed by stretches where he loses focus, forgets plays, and struggles to execute defensive concepts. Overall, he has potential but needs more structure, repetition, and discipline to reach his role as a reliable wing-forward.
Strengths
Hamza has good size and physical tools for a wing-forward and shows flashes of being able to defend, rebound, and contribute with energy when he is locked in. At his best, he competes, runs the floor, and uses his athleticism to make hustle plays. He is capable of guarding multiple positions when focused, and his natural strength helps him hold his ground inside despite being undersized. His willingness to work, adapt, and learn the North American game is a positive sign for long-term development.
Areas We Are Working On
We are focusing on improving Hamza’s consistency, both in effort and execution. He needs to build better habits on defense, including understanding team concepts, remembering rotations, and staying engaged throughout possessions. Strengthening his shooting mechanics and ball handling is essential so he can be more effective as a wing player. Improving focus and recall of plays and coverages is a major priority, as he currently loses track of defensive responsibilities. He also needs to develop more consistent athletic output – playing hard every possession, not just in flashes. The goal is to help him become a disciplined, reliable wing-forward who can defend, stay focused, and contribute within a structured system.
