Scouting Report
Sekou is an emerging forward/center transitioning from a traditional high school program into the prep environment. He brings a combination of size, skill, and natural feel for the game that gives him considerable upside. His timing as a shot blocker and willingness to learn make him an intriguing and tremendous long-term prospect. Coming from a program that did not emphasize high-level development, he is still raw in certain areas but has the foundation to evolve into a strong two-way player with proper coaching, structure, and strength training.
Strengths
He is an excellent shot blocker with great timing and anticipation, showing natural defensive instincts around the rim. Offensively, he has soft touch and can step out to hit perimeter shots, making him a rare big with legitimate shooting range. He rebounds well and has the versatility to play inside or out depending on matchups. His attitude and coachability stand out – he is receptive to feedback and eager to improve. When engaged, he runs the floor effectively and shows flashes of the versatility that could make him a modern stretch-forward or rim-protecting big at the next level.
Areas of Improvement
The main areas of improvement are his current physical strength, consistency, and aggressiveness. He is training and actively working on adding muscle mass to compete with stronger, more physical opponents at the prep and collegiate levels. His motor can vary, as he sometimes shies away from contact or fades out of plays instead of asserting himself. He tends to wait for rebounds rather than attacking the glass and is developing more consistent engagement throughout games. Offensively, he lacks defined go-to moves and would benefit from refining a few reliable scoring options. With more experience, confidence, and intensity, Sekou has tremendous potential to elevate from a talented prospect to a dominant force.
